On the 10th of June we are organising a Wave of Resistance – a beach protest/educational even in Oban to mark World Oceans Day and protest against the marine impacts of oil and gas drilling. Our beaches, seas and marine wildlife are so important to us in Argyll, yet they are threatened not only here but across the UK and the world by the impacts of drilling for oil and gas.
Please join us at Ganavan Sands from 2.30pm on Saturday 10th June for talks about local marine life and the impacts of oil and gas extraction, a beach clean, and a protest – bring banners and signs to show how much you love our oceans and beaches. There will also be similar protests taking place at the same time on beaches in Aberdeen, London (river rather than beach!) and Grimsby about the impacts of oil and gas on marine life. You can read more about that here.
